As a way of making the wines and producers of the Alentejo known, the Évora Hotel offers its guests several discounts and benefits that encourage visits to the most renowned wineries and vineyards in this region, of which:
1. Cartuxa Winery
Two kilometers from the center of the city of Évora is located the Cartuxa Winery, inspired by the Cartuxa Monastery. Here visitors can visit the Quinta de Valbom and get to know all the surroundings of the space that was a resting house for Jesuits, as well as taste the wines and olive oils from the Eugénio de Almeida Foundation, name of the family that acquired the space in the 19th century. The guests of the Évora Hotel are entitled to gift vouchers for the visit and wine tasting (limited to existing stock).
2.Ervideira Winery
The Ervideira Winery is located in Reguengos de Monsaraz, a space promoted by Count D’Ervideira who started wine production here in 1880. Currently, the Adega da Ervideira produces an annual average of about 800 thousand bottles of wine, exclusively from its 160 hectares of vineyards and exports its wines to over 20 countries. Visitors can have different wine tastings, as well as picnics with tasting of some Alentejo delicacies (Alentejo bread, sheep’s cheese, selection of sausages, traditional flavored jam and Alentejo toasts with olive oil and oregano). Guests of the Évora Hotel enjoy a 50% discount on the value of the visit and wine tastings and 10% discount on purchases at the winery store.
3.Herdade do Esporão
Herdade do Esporão is a 750 years old estate with more than 700 hectares of vineyards, olive groves and other biologically cultivated crops. On this estate alone are planted about 40 grape varieties, four varieties of olives, orchards and vegetable gardens. Here you can get to know the Monte Velho Wine Cellars – Adega de Lagares – and the different types of production processes of these wines from Herdade do Esporão. It is also possible to explore the estate by bike or on foot. Wine and olive oil tasting is available at the estate’s Wine Bar. The Évora Hotel offers four different programs: tasting and visit to Esporão’s wine cellars; wine and olive oil tasting; olive oil tasting; or organic wine and olive oil tasting. There are discounts for Évora Hotel guests and tickets range from 6 to 13.50 euros.
4.Quinta do Quetzal
Quinta do Quetzal is located in the Vidigueira region and preserves the ancient Roman and Alentejo wine production traditions and techniques. This space also merges the wine culture with contemporary art, with a Quetzal Art Center, a space dedicated to art, where various works by internationally acclaimed artists are exhibited. Vouchers are available for Évora Hotel clients with discounts on the visit to the winery (limited to existing stock) and a 10% discount on purchases made in the wine store.
5.Sharish Gin Interpretive Center
Besides wine and olive oil, Évora Hotel also offers discounts for the Gin Interpretive Center, the first and only space in the Iberian Peninsula dedicated to learn about the science and culture of gin production. Visits to the distillery are free and for guests of the Évora Hotel there is the offer of a giveaway, delivered at the hotel reception.
